EK Shipping JA Terms & Conditions

By registering for or using EK Shipping JA services, the customer agrees to these terms.

1. Services

EK Shipping JA provides air, sea, and land freight and logistics support, package consolidation, handling, and delivery coordination. Third-party carriers and agents may be used to complete these services.

2. Customer responsibilities

Customers must provide accurate account, shipment, value, and recipient information; use their assigned EKJA customer code on every package; package goods appropriately; and comply with carrier, customs, and legal requirements.

3. Rates and payment

Published rates may depend on actual or dimensional weight, service method, destination, customs treatment, and special handling. Charges are payable before release unless EK Shipping JA agrees otherwise. Customs duties, taxes, storage, delivery, and exceptional handling charges are separate where applicable.

4. Prohibited and restricted items

Illegal goods, weapons, explosives, undeclared hazardous materials, currency, and other carrier- or customs-restricted items are prohibited. Batteries, liquids, perishables, medication, and regulated goods may require prior approval and documentation.

5. Transit times

Shipping schedules and transit times are estimates. Weather, customs, carriers, holidays, and events outside EK Shipping JA's reasonable control may cause delays.

6. Inspection and identification

Shipments may be inspected for safety, identification, and compliance. Packages received without the customer's assigned EKJA code may be delayed while ownership is verified.

7. Claims and liability

Customers must report visible loss or damage promptly and provide invoices, tracking information, photographs, and packaging when requested. Liability is limited to the amount required by applicable law or an accepted written insurance arrangement. EK Shipping JA is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.

8. Collection and delivery

Customers must collect or arrange delivery promptly after notification. Free delivery is limited to eligible locations and shipments confirmed by EK Shipping JA.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Updated terms become effective when published or communicated.
